Itinerary Overview

This retreat is ideal for beginners and intermediate yoga practitioners looking to connect with yoga in a natural setting. Mornings begin with yoga to prepare for the day, followed by paddling on the serene Sun Kosi River. Afternoons include dynamic yoga flows and workshops on alignment, breath, and yoga philosophy.

  • Day 1: Start with an early morning departure from Kathmandu, a short drive to Dolaghat, and an introductory rafting session. Visit a local Hindu temple and camp on Butterfly Beach. Evening yoga session available.
  • Day 2: Morning yoga and thrilling rafting through rapids such as “No Exit” (Grade 3) and “Meatgrinder” (Grade 4). Activities include cliff jumping, exploring caves, and optional kayaking lessons. Campfire evenings with storytelling.
  • Day 3: Morning yoga followed by rafting through the “Anxiety” series of rapids. Engage with local villagers, explore jungles, and enjoy cultural exchanges.
  • Day 4: Tackle “Hakapur,” the biggest rapid of the journey. Visit the confluence of Sun Kosi and Dudh Kosi rivers, and meet a local holy man with fascinating stories.
  • Day 5: Rest day with additional yoga classes, optional hikes to local villages, kayaking lessons, and relaxation on a scenic beach.
  • Days 6–9: Yoga sessions paired with exciting rafting through rapids like “Jaws,” “Jungle Corridor,” “Rollercoaster,” and more. Visit waterfalls for refreshing showers and take part in thrilling activities like bridge jumping. The journey ends with a visit to Baraha Chhetra, a holy Hindu temple, before floating to the takeout at Chatra and returning to Kathmandu.
